I have some urine leakage does this mean that I have to put up with it for the rest of my life?

I had a baby about 4 months ago and although I don't leak all the time, I find picking him up I can lose a little bit. I thought I'd improve, but I don't seem to be getting any better. I'm worried it's just going to get worse as my son gets bigger and heavier to pick up.

Our expert answered:

Your pelvic floor muscles support your bladder and your urethra opening, helping you stay in control of when you want to pee. During your pregnancy and maybe even during his birth, your son put pressure on your bladder and your pelvic floor muscles.

Many women who have a baby find the stress of the baby weight and birth can damage and weaken those muscles, so can no longer hold the urethra tightly shut, especially when there is a sudden change in the abdominal pressure.

Pelvic Floor Exercises can help strengthen these muscles, and combined with Poise products, you can manage your bladder weakness with confidence.
