I often don't realise I've leaked until I go to the toilet. Why and what's the cause?

Thanks for your enquiry.
Light bladder leakage or LBL most often occurs because the pelvic floor muscles that sit under the bladder and around the urethra (tube which carries urine from the bladder to outside your body) are weakened and are now not strong enough to prevent urine escaping. There are many common causes of this such as childbirth, injury, overactive bladder, obesity etc.

The good news is that 80 per cent of women can be cured quite easily by conservative means. One measure is pelvic floor muscles.
