Poise® Ask an Expert gives you the opportunity to submit a question to our panel of qualified continence nurses regarding your bladder weakness issues and worries.
You can also browse through other women's already answered questions.
My continence problem is due to radiotheraphy when I had bowel cancer 9 years ago. The cancer treatment 'finished off' my menopause time so that is not an issue. My bladder was damaged by the radiotheraphy.
My tumour was directly behind my bladder on the bowel. As a result of the radiotheraphy, daily over six weeks, I no longer have 'dry panties'. I certainly would not feel comfortable not using a liner. I am slim and lead a busy active life style working part time and doing heaps of volunteer work with both keeping me on my feet for long periods of time.
Our expert answered:
Hi Barbara, you are certainly not alone. Many active women are suffering from weak bladders and it is often not discussed. You have been through so much, suffering from bladder weakness should certainly not get in the way from you leading an active and busy life.
Using products such as Poise, which have a range of liners available, will be most suitable for your condition as they are up to three times more absorbent than feminine care liners such as Libra, yet just as discreet.
