Change in eating habits helping

I’ve just started going through menopause and along with the hot flushes and the cold sweats, I’ve also got urge incontinence. I’ve been getting up sometimes 2-3 times during the night. Such a pain!

I thought about limiting my drinks but I’ve done a bit of research and that can make it worse.

What I’ve actually had to do is change my diet. It can be a bit annoying, but so far, I’m only getting up once a night.

Biggest change is having my large daily meal at lunch instead of dinner. My doctor said that digestion makes water, and having a large meal makes us drink more fluid too, so a lighter meal at night means less I’m drinking less and making less water.

Other little changes are no coffee or tea after 1pm, and trying not to use salt, so that I’m not dehydrating my body into making more pee.

I’m not sure whether the meal swap will be a permanent fixture of my life, but I’m certainly going to stick with it doing the weekdays. Anyone else having the same issues as me with the “Change”, I recommend giving the big lunch a go.
