I am a 23 year old woman and am worried that when I get older I will experience Incontinence like my mum, is this true?

My Mum has had incontinence as long as I have know her and it seems to have gotten worse as she has gotten older.

I am worried that I will also end up having accidents and being worried about smelling.

Incontinence is not hereditary, although there are lifestyle and environmental factors that can exacerbate the incidence of Incontinence occurring. Environmental factors include; fluid intake, the type and amount; diet; exercise; when you go to the toilet to pass urine or open your bowels; how you sit on the toilet; and whether you have completely emptied your bladder of urine, to name a few.
