Bladder Issues with MS

I have just turned 27, and only 12 months ago I was diagnosed with Primary Progressive Multiple Sclerosis (PPMS). Basically, this is the worst, most quickly progressive form of MS. And how happy I was to find that along with all over body numbness, loss of motor skills, walking diffculties and fatigue, (and much more) now I have bladder issues as well!

It’s been hard to manage all of these new symptoms, and they change every day, but now I know how to identify oncoming issues.

I even know now when I have a urine infection without doing a urine test!

I have also found there are lots of things available to help those of us who need it, and often it just takes asking the right people. From doctors, occupational therapists, friends, family and most of all other people with similar issues.

I had an amazing discussion with my grandmother about periods and hormones and lots of other taboo things, and it was so helpful! Sometimes a little hope and understanding can come from the most unlikely places.

Ever since I had my children I’ve had a bit of stress incontinence when I pick them up, sneeze, cough etc.
